Friendly coral Friday

Right now I shall commit a coralish overkill: framed by my already coral background, here is an overview of colours that could be classified as coral in one of the parallel worlds. Because Snow asks for it for her Friendly Friday photo challenge.

I laughed when after starting this new blog Snow Melts Somewhere informed me that my background colour is called living coral and told me how trendy it is this year. I chose it after our guest room wall which amore painted himself and he suggested the colour too. A proper trendsetting couple.

Once he was finished with the guest room he did the bathroom with more white paint added, so we have two shades of it. I could use this tool to help identify it:

But instead I’d called it peach/salmon/Tuscany before Snow informed me of its name.

I didn’t look around to spot it around me now, these 20 are from my archives, both from Italy and Slovenia. There are so many examples, but none from Siena, even though the colour sienna is not so far removed.

It seems that I live and breathe this colour. And now I do it on my blog too. Let’s see how it all blends.

  Let’s start out gently. The vine brings it out. Nova vas in Slovenia.

  One could argue it’s just pink. Pescia Fiorentina.

  Pastel Piran and Mr. Tartini presiding in his square.

  Not Piran any more, even though the roofs are similar. Porto Santo Stefano in Maremma, Tuscany.

  Basically, this is a pink elephant but he really wished to be included. Santa Marinella.

  As did these flamingos, right here in our Coop supermarket by the Orbetello lagoon. Not even very pink.

  This is more like it. The sunset in Bernardin brings out all kinds of colours. Right where Italy is.

  Škofja Loka, an old Slovenian town, boasts many shades of it.

  This looks more like burnt sienna and is not even in Tuscany: Slovenian House Figovec in Ljubljana. A lovely and yummy place.

• 

  The sky wished to compete again and sent this orangey hue. Piran.

• 

  This is Rome, Italy, and this is where this colour was born, possibly, like so much else.

• 

  More Rome, with an added fuchsia. Looks useful.

• 

  Massa Marittima and this lovely display.

• 

  The Franciscan church in Ljubljana in similar style. This man knows: if you pass it, better match. “Normal = bad word.”

  So many asses too, it seems. 😀 Ljubljana.

  This I see when I step out my front door. You see what I mean by living in it.

  This Piran courtyard has three shades of it.

  Eccolo! This is what I imagined our guest room would look like. Father made this for my birthday. It turned out similar.

  In the right light even bestia is coral. As is Barbie. And both walls.

  And finally, this is what we did. Our little storage room with the pasta curtain. (Nahh. I just call it this way.)
