Here is one of those compilation posts I like doing so much, of shadows that I see if I look around, which I tend to do.
They say that the camera only teaches you how to look around without a camera, which becomes painfully clear whenever I don’t have it with me. So many things happen that now I only leave it at home when it’s raining, and I regret it even then.
Here are some shadow glimpses then. Each is not much on its own but each has a place in this company of shadows and all together they are a joy to behold. Welcome to my shadows!

Haha. Yes. It’s hard on the phone….and on the train.

I like your shadow hero! Those long afternoon shadows are the best. I love the one with the arches in stone where they play a big part in Italy. The light and shadows were lovely there.

Thank you, Deborah. Yes, the light here is telling you you’re at the end of the world. And yet at the origin too. If this makes sense.

I think I get it. 😉

It’s so cool to see some of these shots now because I can actually remember being there myself 😀
The shadow arches in Pitigliano were so much fun to shoot.

Thanks, Norm. It’s completely different once you see it for yourself, right? I wonder if I’m ever going to see your snow. 😀

Great shadows. I never “think” of shadows enough. As for the camera? I stopped using a camera years ago. But I always carry my I-Phone with me. Never miss a thing. Ciao, ciao.

Thanks, Equinoxio. Your photos don’t seem to have been taken with a phone. I don’t like to use the phone for anything, even though sometimes it’s useful.

All are taken with an I-phone. The optics have improved considerably in the past few years. Zoom ad angle is still not great but I’m confident this will be fixed within five years. I also use Photoshop for framing, a it of cleaning, light adjustments. That’s all.
I’d stopped taking photos in the late 90’s because of the bulk. My Asahi-Pentax, a wide angle, a zoom, 3-5 kilos easily?
Now I carry my I-phone in my back pocket. My hands and eyes are free. I see something? I grab the phone. Take a few shots and that’s it. Limitations? Yes. Not good for portraits. Animals. Can’t play with light, shutter speed, etc. But for my type of photography it’s fine. 🙂

Thank you, Joey. But you know that you need sun for shadows, right? And that sometimes it gets hot? 😉 At the end of the day it’s not as hot any more. I love it too when the light is saying goodbye.

I’m not anti-sun.
Well, not entirely 😛

Ahh, thank you, Becky. 🙂 Oh, my flamingos mostly keep out of my zoom reach but from close up they are not all that meek, I find. Their beaks are wicked!
