Joy and sorrow

“When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”

Khalil Gibran (quote reblogged from The Wandering Sweet Potato)

It may be a strange title for an 8th March post but it what it is.

Women, instead of just flowers I wish to gift you two minutes in the life of these goats, swallows and poppies from last May in Grosseto. Let’s munch together and reflect.

Are you happy? Full of joy, or is it sorrow?

Do you wish to know a secret?

    1. Oh, for sure, Joanne. But to me this reminds me of all that has been and how we got to at least this stage. When I was growing up in Yugoslavia this day was huge and for many women the only day when they were able to go out by themselves… Imagine.

      1. Well, I wasn’t speaking of me personally. 😀 Nor of my parents. Slovenians were always pretty good about it, but in other ex-Yugoslav republics to the south it was not like that.
