Friendly Friday mood & Day 19: Abeceda

Today is the best day for having mood as the theme for Snow’s Friendly Friday challenge: I met a new friend and the mood was the best in months.

Photos will give you the exact idea but before the photos – poetry.

Challenge 19: “Write an abecedarian poem – a poem in which the word choice follows the words/order of the alphabet.”

I give you a double alphabet poem – that only starts out with my joyful mood but then turns into an invented written conversation – with the confession that I almost forgot Q and once I realised that X preceded Y in the alphabet, I had to change it all around. What? Not my alphabet, not my monkeys. We have č, š and ž instead. The title is Slovenian word for alphabet.

Abeceda

A bright, clear day:
each fascinating gaze
held immense joy.

Kid let mother near.
Opening pores.
Quest ran smoothly
to universal victory.

Warmly,
xoxo,
yours,
Zero.

Zen you, eX!

Was very upset today.
Seemed raw.
“Queen” - preposterous,
opera never-ending.
Might lose kindergarten job.
I hate getting fired.
Estranged, dirty, clueless.

Best, Alpha.

And now to my today’s mood: There was sea, sun, towers, a new hill-town Gavorrano, with rows and rows of doors and doors, and finally, fascinating news that when Donna finishes my portrait, it is to be exhibited right here in Massa Marittima in Tuscany together with her other portraits. Filed under: I’d never believe if somebody told me. Thank you, Donna, for this great day.

    1. Thank you, Judy! 🙂 I must say that I say quince only because a botanist friend suggested it might be it but she wasn’t sure. I have no idea myself. Anyway, I’m glad that you like it so much.

    1. Oooo, great to know, Maggie, thank you! I’m glad you have one, it’s glorious!

Here, in this Italy, everything comes together just right, especially now that it’s not too hot yet. Even though right now in Rome it’s already almost 30 C. Happy Easter!

    1. Thank you, Suvi. I did indeed! I was in the general area at least twice before and the water was always very turquoise. The only place I’d seen it before was on the west coat of Crete and of the Peloponnese, or I wouldn’t even believe that such a colour exists in Europe.

  1. Ah, thank you for the turquoise colors!
I can tell you had a great day, and I enjoyed it too via this post 🤗 How cool that your immortalized image will soonbe part of art history and you an art model muse!
I LOVED the poems too, especially the first one, brilliant. Loved the idea too, so much that I thought I might do one of these too on my blog – next week, maybe-maybe (that’s a double maybe because I’m not committing tomany timetables!) 🤩

    1. Ahh, I’m so glad that you got moved into (maybe maybe) action, SMSW! I love it when it happens to me. No matter if you do it next week or at any later time, really. Now you’ve seen the concept and it’s fun to try it. It was my first such attempt.

The day was truly excellent. I need something or somebody to push me out of the house, and there is nothing better than a new friend in this place where I had none, and I mean none, other than my pack. And the locations were so pretty too. I wish you happy Easter and a great weekend!

  2. Your little nonsensical vignettes are perfect reflections of the absurdity of life.
And now to the photos: I love the way you frame openings. Beautiful colors, but that’s from Mother Earth! (K)

    1. That’s right, K. The colours are from Mother Earth, whereas the absurdity and nonsense of my words comes from my almost 50 years of experience with humanity. 😀 Can hardly recommend it. 😉 Thanks for sticking around!

  3. I loved how you turned the poetry prompt into a conversations in letters (or probably email in this day and age). Brilliant take on this difficult form! I am living vicariously through you and Patrick and your photos.

    1. Thank you, Crystal! 🙂 This month my creativity is being double tested. I need to write one poem to the prompt every day and combine this with regular challenges. My poeming is not skilful and experienced enough to be switched on every day. But I do my best… This was one glorious day.

      1. I have actually never showed anything to anyone ..cause I am always at a loss as to what to write and then when I did write, i was way too embarrassed 😦

    1. Thank you so much, TextileRanger, and welcome to my blog! 🙂 Oh, in this post is not my town but a beach and a town which that day I visited for the first time. In Tuscany towns are similar and so pretty.
