Lens-Artists PC: Uniquely on point

Ours are on point times, unique times, so this post answers to two photo challenges with these two themes.

Here, first, the only possible song in connection with on point. It brings back the fun times of our trio in Vienna, culminating with the House of Pain gig in Arena. Tund-da tutudarrundda. Don’t stand so close to me cause.

The featured photo shows a tired dog at the end of the long weekend. But first, let’s see what I’ve been watching lately. First it was the Chernobyl series, then The Age of Stupid. I feel it, the close shave.

I want to tell you about it but not in such a way that would make you watch either or both immediately. Even though you should.

On point is where we should be.

The Chernobyl series showed what was and could be again, The Age of Stupid shows what is now. It was made ten years ago and the point of no return passed in 2015. I wish you happy eleven years before us.

(Oh, and there’s Leaving Neverland too, if you still feel cheery.)

I really need to get my happy groove back before it’s irreversibly lost.

A good attempt at it was this weekend in Rome when I co-owned a cat for the first time in my life. She is two months old, she is a super cat, and bestia had a three-day crash course to learn how to deal with a tiny cat. I worried over her, not him. He snapped at her a few times when she crossed his invisible boundary, especially before dinner.

Luckily I was only visiting. The cat stayed with his owner to the great delight of bestia who returned home with us. Which brings me to Judy who wrangles cats and dogs in Mexico as well. Lately she started a new photo challenge at her blog lifelessons. She leaves it open for the whole month. You still have a few days in June to get on point.

I don’t like to combine challenges but today I have to. Some busy days ahead. So this post is also for Lens-Artists challenge on the subject of unique. This weekend was unique because never before I wrangled a cat and a dog and there will never be the first again. It all ended well. We shall see in a month or two when the cat has grown how it goes when they see each other again.

Today’s gallery is full of photos from this weekend. I declare flowers unique things on point. Plus, there is a special set of utensils which I bought in Vienna long ago and keep carrying around. I have never seen such anywhere until I stumbled on some on Cee’s blog. And now that I’ve searched for Cee’s post, I can see in the comments that Judy says they have such utensils in Mexico as well. Small world. Blogging is fun. 🙂 Even though now I can see that my utensils are far from unique.

In other news, I have two queries:

  • Why are there so many butterflies and moths this year? Is this unique or the new normal?
  • Why are there more and more bloggers liking my comments elsewhere but never coming to my blog, or only randomly, and never commenting here? How can my comment “Oh, how fascinating!” have five likes?? Get a grip, people. And then one gets insulted when I ask him why he can’t blog like the normal people. I’d expose all of you but you’d only be getting the attention you crave.

Good. All this chatting has made me forget about the eleven years. But this is the point of this post. Spend them however you see fit. I plan to celebrate.

  1. These photos are unique and beautiful. I love these unique utensils. The cat captures are so cool! Hope the cat and a dog will do fine. 🙂 Thank you for sharing, MM!

  2. I’m glad I came across your post today. Those are lovely photos and you know I adore the ones with little miss kitty. The begonias look more like geraniums, but only because I currently have begonias on my patio and I used to buy an annual geranium for mom.

PS: I hope I’m blogging like normal people, just have been bad at visiting everyone. 🙂

    1. Hello, Mary, always good to see you! No worries, I didn’t mean you and me, the normal bloggers, who visit on and off but always have something of substance to say. I was too busy monitoring the proceedings to take care of better kitten photos. Next time. Oh right, geraniums! I knew something was off. 😀 Thank you, and always welcome!

  3. Great points made, and I love the fork and spoon. Unless they make them elsewhere, they are made in Mexico and exactly the pattern I wanted to buy, but I already have 4 sets of “silverware” (none of them silver) so couldn’t justify the expense. I do love them, though. Thanks for the blurb as well. When I built a new house back when I was a teacher, my students made me a mailbox that looks like your pointy flower stand.. the post diagonal like that. I loved it. Nice memories..

  4. Love them all, Manja – and the cat! Poor Bestia…a little… I have the same looking utensils, but only two spoons, Love them. I laughed right out at your ranting and questions though – Answering the first one, for Sweden at least, we had a terrible drought last summer, this summer everything is growing lush and fast. The butterflies left North Africa because of the heat – no breeding in that heat… The second question puzzles me, because I have had exactly the same thing! They comment everywhere on my comments (likes it), but say nothing to me on my own blog. A conspiracy???
    Wishing you a great week!

    1. Hehe, a conspiracy of lazy-ass attention-seekers who think it’s possible to instant-blog. I suppose this is another instance of how humanity is lazified. Thank you for the butterfly insight. Welcome, then, butterflies. No breeding in the heat is what we’ll be up against soon too. So funny to learn you have such spoons too! 🙂 Thank you so much, Leya, I’m always glad to see you around. ❤

  5. I looked up The Age of Stupid yesterday after seeing your post on Twitter. We were too curious so we had to watch it – scary stuff. We are past the point of no return I fear. Ahh…we humans 😦

    1. Oh, Norm, you watched it. Have you seen this mini sequel from this year?

I can’t see much clapping in the parliaments around the world… Serbians would say: Živi bili pa videli, which means Live and let see.

      All well to you two.

  6. Yes, they should blog like normal people. Honestly, I’m pressed for time, and no longer click to see who it is liking. Whatever, people. Cat got your mouse?
    Nice to see kitty 🙂
SO MANY PRETTY FLOWERS! I don’t know what most of them are because they’re tropical.
I’m guessing moth and butterfly population is weather-related. But it’s a guess.

  7. A wonderful drama, Manja, between the dog and the cat. I love the shot of Bestia looking skeptically at the cat. Poor Bestia looks exhausted by the whole experience! Good luck in the next visit!

    1. Thank you, Patti. 🙂 It sounds like you’ve had some similar drama experiences. 😉 It’s all new to me. By the end Bestia even approached the cat with the tail up a few times and wanted to kiss her. So cute! We’ll see the next time.

    1. Thank you, Denny. Yes, I’ve been told about geraniums and have fixed the caption. I’m glad you’ve got lots of sunshine to give them. I must say I could do with a lot less heat right now. Melting here!

I will not ask you questions at the end of posts to trick you into commenting. So when you do it on your own, it's that more appreciated. Thank you!
